Hints and tips about screwdriving
Screwdrivers are indispensable tools. We will explain what you need to know about them.
Procedure:
Only with the right screwdriver in the appropriate size can screws be driven and removed without damaging the tool, workpiece, the screw itself or the DIYer’s hands.
Inappropriate screwdriver bits easily slip out of the slot in the screw, leaving unsightly scratches.
Screwdriver handles should be firmly glued or melted to the bit and they should sit securely in your hand, therefore enabling optimum power transfer.
Interchangeable bits make screwdrivers more versatile. Drivers with a bit holder have a standardised magnetic mount.
Appropriate wrenches are indispensable for tightening and loosening screws with a hexagonal head. You are best to buy them in a set with eight wrenches.
A cordless screwdriver with bit holder allows for fatigue-free, fast and accurate screwdriving. Torque adjustment guarantees that screws are driven appropriately for the material being worked on, without damaging the surface. It is also possible to control the speed using a setting wheel or trigger switch. To drive screws with a cordless screwdriver you need the appropriate screwdriver bits, which can be changed easily and without additional tools due to the keyless chuck or the bit holder.
