    Marking the cut edge

Turning a chair into a clothes stand: Mark the desired cut edge on the seat of an old chair. This is really easy to do – lay the slat straight on the seat and mark the line as desired. When doing so, make sure that the line is as straight as possible.

    2

    Sawing the chair to size

Time to cut the previously marked line: The PKS 18 LI cordless circular saw from Bosch will enable you to make a precise cut. To do so, first set the desired cutting depth, position the saw on the outer edge and then saw through the seat. If the height of the seat exceeds the maximum cutting depth of the cordless circular saw, the surface has to be sawn through all the way around on three sides.

Lastly, saw the wooden slat which will later be used as the wall holder so that it matches the chair width.

Note: If seats have reinforced side edges (as in this example), the slat has to be sawn so that it can be placed between the edges.

    Sanding down the chair

Now to give the chair the finishing touch. Use a sander to sand the sawn edge and the chair surface until they are smooth and sleek. Thanks to its various attachments, the PRR 250 ES sanding roller from Bosch enables you to do this effortlessly even on ornate chairs or wood-turned legs.

Now you can fix the wooden slat to the wall using the wall plugs and screws. Then place the chair on the slat. Depending on the shape of the chair, you now screw the side edges of the seat to the slat on the left and right or, if there are no side edges, you fix the seat to the wooden slat directly from above.

Your clothes stand is then finished, making your hall tidy and stylish.
