How to make dull surfaces shine again
Turn your random orbit sander into a polishing tool – and make dull surfaces shine again!
The right way to polish with the random orbit sander. Replacing the sanding sheet on your random orbit sander with a polishing felt or sponge gives you an efficient polishing tool – e.g. for paint, brass and perspex.
A polishing paste is usually used together with a polishing felt disc. The paste builds up in the felt disc during the polishing process.
You should use a new felt disc and a finer polish for every subsequent polishing run. Important: The workpiece surface must be carefully cleaned of previous polish between polishing runs because otherwise it builds up in the new felt disc.
Only use suitable polish and a lambswool bonnet when polishing car paint. Apply the suitable polishing wax evenly to the paint surface (by hand or with a machine). Then polish the paintwork of your car at low speed by applying little pressure.
By the way:
You can rent polishing machines from the DIY store for large surfaces such as floors.
